    <content type="html">&lt;br /&gt;I am taking a break from fandom.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I had this big long post composed with explanations and refrigerator metaphors but what it all comes down to is&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;a href="http://alchemia.dreamwidth.org/10226.html"&gt;this graphic&amp;nbsp;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;on &lt;span style='white-space: nowrap;'&gt;&lt;a href='https://alchemia.dreamwidth.org/profile'&gt;&lt;img src='https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png' alt='[personal profile] ' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: text-bottom; border: 0; padding-right: 1px;' /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;a href='https://alchemia.dreamwidth.org/'&gt;&lt;b&gt;alchemia&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is not my fandom.&amp;nbsp; Not what I want out of fandom, not what I can put up with from fandom.&amp;nbsp; The graphic is bad enough, but the cheering in the comments afterward is even worse.&amp;nbsp; As is the explanation for why it isn't really rape and is okay.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I also hear echoes of&amp;nbsp; the very common 'but&amp;nbsp;she deserved it'&amp;nbsp;in the responses to any poster critical of the&amp;nbsp;drawing.&amp;nbsp; (he or they in this case)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is appalling.&amp;nbsp; This is not why I have a journal...or why I interact&amp;nbsp;with fandom.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I figure&amp;nbsp;a break from it all is a good thing for me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/commentcount?user=rensreality101&amp;ditemid=32698" width="30" height="12" alt="comment count unavailable" style="vertical-align: middle;"/&gt; comments</content>
